PC Magazine announces its Editors Choice Award – Best Backup Software Category
Obviously every computer user should have current backup of their entire system in case their data becomes lost or corrupted. Put another way, it is downright idiotic not to have a full, current backup of one’s entire system.
We all have had, or know someone that has experienced a virus attack leading to data loss. The most recent example I heard was of a organization that’s server got hacked and malware was placed on their site. Crazy, hey! The worst part of this story is that their server was not backed up recently and now the costs of rectifying the situaltion are starting to mount up.
Of the many backup software products on the market, wouldn’t you want to use the best? ShadowProtect was recently awarded the coveted PC Mag editors’ choice award. This award is given for the best software in its respective category, so in this case it is awarded best in class for the best backup software category.
Firstly, ShadowProtect backs up using the best method available, namely full system backup or to quote from Edward Mendleson from PC Magazine, “Sure, online backup has its place…But the best, most secure backup software is a drive-imaging program that makes a backup of your whole disk.” ShadowProtect does a fantastic job in performing this function. Secondly, not only does ShadowProtect use the best type of backup available, it smokes the competition in how well it does that.
To continue quoting PC Mag, “ShadowProtect Desktop doesn’t offer features that you can’t find elsewhere, but it performs those features more smoothly, reliably, quickly, and easily than any rival software.” The link for the entire backup software review is provided for your convenience.
ShadowProtect 4.0 Features: Backup – Fast and reliable disk-based backup that captures full, differential and incremental point-in-time backup images of your entire system. This includes the Windows OS, applications, configuration settings and data. Schedule full and incremental backups for protection as often as every 15 minutes of everything on your Windows servers.
File and Folder Recovery – Quickly browse to specific files and folders in your point-in-time backup images to perform granular recovery of your data.
VirtualBoot – Right-click any ShadowProtect point-in-time backup image and automatically boot it as a virtual machine.
Virtual Converter – Take a ShadowProtect desktop/server point-in-time backup image and convert it to a .VMDK or .VHD.
Management Console – ShadowProtect’s management console allows you to simultaneously push install ShadowProtect software to all of your Windows desktops/servers. Check the status of your system backups, import or export system information and create groupings for simplified management.
Consolidation – Automatically consolidate backup image files with ShadowProtect ImageManager. This minimizes backup storage consumption and streamlines backup image management by providing consolidated daily, weekly and monthly backups.
Verification – ShadowProtect ImageManager also regularly verifies and re-verifies backup image chains to ensure that your backup images are in a known good state for fast and reliable recovery should a disaster occur.
Notification – Track the status of backup jobs through the notification tools in ShadowProtect ImageManager. This feature allows you to set e-mail and SMTP configurations so you can be notified of backup job success and failure automatically.
In summary, if you want to use the best backup software available, then ensure your machines are fully backed up using ShadowProtect software.
