Any company worth its salt will have an online presence in the form of a company website. Be aware that even scam companies will put up a website, so it pays to research the company properly before giving them any information. On the other hand, a company that provide sketchy or incomplete information or offers that sound too good to be true are the ones to watch out for.

Contact networking
We all have a list of people that we know in our personal or work related circles. Another useful tool is to use Web 2.0 sites like Facebook or LinkedIn where you can send out messages or search for online job information.

Before you begin your search, always have your up to date resume completed and on-hand in electronic format. Ensure that it has the relevant information for the job you are applying for, and that it is not too long for the employer to get an idea of your capabilities quickly. A good cover letter also helps companies to differentiate your application when applying for an online job without investment.
